The party started at 6pm, Dec. 27.
I arrived 6:02pm, Dec. 27.
The first thing Sonali did when I arrived was yell at me for being so late.
Then, she told me my outfit, the one I had carefully put together, was really weird.
So, I'm standing there, thinking, what's wrong with a long blue knit tank top over jeggings, with a black & white striped cardigan, black vintage flats with a buckle, and a 'L-O-V-E' rainbow necklace?
Then Chrissa started complaining that she had to wear a tights, which were riding up her bum. My Tights. And that her boots were to tight. My Boots.
Then Sonali started complaining about the music.
"What
is this anyway?" she whined.
"The Strokes," Taryn and I said spontaneously
I smiled at her, and she smiled back at me. That was the first good thing that had happened to me that night.
"Why can't they play good music?" Sonali whined.
That was the last straw.
I stomped off to 'the bathroom', and ran into...
These girls.
So, I walked up to them, and said,
"I really like your outfits,"
The blond girl gasped. "Maiz, it's Aisha Murphy!"
I stood there. "You know who I am?"
"Of course! You have the best fashion sense in the whole school!"
"Well that's a first..." I mumbled.
"I'm Bridget," the blond girl said.
"And I'm Maizee-Liss,"
Then an OK Go Song came on, and Maizee-Liss started dancing, and singing along.
"Don't you love this song?" she asked, bouncing.
"Yes," I said earnestly.
"Oh good!" Bridget said. "I was afraid people were going to hate the playlist I made."
That's a good sign.
"We're trying to play this in our band," Maizee-Liss explained.
"Band?"
"Yeah, The Difference Between The Duck," Bridget said. "But we still need a guitar player..."
And if that wasn't music to my ears, guess what song came on next?
